November 2002 - Mark and Will in Italy
In our triumphant 3rd trip to the Italy and the Cinque Terre, Will and I do the coastline walk and visit Venice. Experience the trip in photos below:

Some random facts:
I got really sick in Venice, so if I look kinda' miserable in some of the photos it's because I was.
The first bed I was sleeping in Levanto had bed bugs, so I switched to the other bed in the room, and that was bug free.
Italy has the best ice cream in the world!

The start of the walk along the Cinque Terre.

The coastline of the Cinque Terre, one of the prettiest places on the planet.

Vernazza is one of the middle villages of the Cinque Terre (five fishing villages connected by a coastal path). It's a good place to stop and take a rest on your walk along the coast.

Climbing the enormous number of stairs into Corniglia

Here I am taking a quick break on our walk up a hill.

Will at the pinnacle of the hike way up into the hills over the Cinque Terre. I swear we heard rabid dogs chasing us. And maybe a couple wild bears.

Me in front of Geletaria "Il Pinguino". Penguins know how to make ice cream.

Boats in the canals of Venice.

Me in front of one of Venice's many bridges. Oh, how cold it is.

One of the plazas in Venice.

St Mark's square in Venice.

Will with the flooded harbor in the background. A very cold day in Venice.

Me and my mother (Sheila) sitting on a bench on the promenade in Levanto.

Splugen - The beer of choice.

I appear to be asleep with food on my lap.

At the end of the trip we had a nice dinner with my parents in Levanto.
