July 2002 - Mark in London
Here are some photos from my trip to England in July. I spent most of the week working, but I did have the final weekend to myself, so I spent some time in London. I went to Camden Market, Portobello Road (I stayed nearby in Notting Hill), HMS Belfast, The London Transport Museum, and wandered all over the city. It was a lot of fun, and quite tiring. There's a video of my hotel room in the movie studio section of the site.

Big Ben (which is actually just the name of the big bell in the clock, but who cares?)

The Houses of Parliament

HMS Belfast - This is worth a visit. It's a real battleship that you get wander all over and explore. It's fascinating. I spent a lot more time here than I thought I would.

HMS Belfast - Front cannons which are supposedly targeting a service station on the outside of London (to prove what an enormous distance they can fire)

HMS Belfast - View towards Tower Bridge

HMS Belfast - Me looking like an idiot (but it's the only photo of me on the trip, so here's proof I was there)

HMS Belfast - The shell storage area

London Transport Museum - Trams

London Transport Museum - The interior of a Tube train (I believe from the 1940s)

Trafalgar Square - People playing in the fountain

Trafalgar Square - Kids feeding pigeons

The London Eye

Westminster Abbey - Worth touring because it's very interesting
